You may notice that we don't sell a particular, popular brand on our website. While we won't name it, we wanted to address why that hole exists.

That’s why we’re sharing this update with you directly. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to stop selling a specific brand of bras and underwear.

Recently, we received a formal request from a verified representative from a brand. The claim stated that the products we stocked of their brand were: 1) counterfeit, 2) that selling them constituted phishing and 3) caused harm to their brand. That was clearly a big claim, and we tried hard to get more information and clarification. Unfortunately, we received only silence and a reiteration of the claim and request to delist the products, instead. It was a one-way street for communication.
Despite proof of authenticity, the agencies who find these “violations” offer limited room for small businesses to push back (or even ask questions) effectively. It's very much a David-and-Goliath power dynamic. Rather than fight an uphill battle, we chose to focus our energy on other trusted brands we carry. ...and take the opportunity to shine some light on the darker parts of corporate industry.
The Bigger Picture: Price Protection vs. Customer Access
On the surface, that brand's position appeared to center on protecting their brand from “counterfeit” goods. We respect any company’s right to safeguard its reputation and intellectual property. However, when genuine, authentic products from small resellers like us are targeted this way, it raises questions about the real motivation. In our experience, the impact often goes beyond counterfeits. It can limit the ability of independent shops to offer popular brands at affordable prices.
Many women today are feeling the squeeze from rising costs everywhere—groceries, gas, housing. A good bra shouldn’t feel like a luxury item. By restricting sales of items outside their stores and websites, brands can more easily maintain higher price points across the market. This approach definitely controls pricing, but rarely in a way that benefits the consumer. It reduces options for budget-conscious shoppers who rely on places like Billy’s Bras to find quality intimates without paying what they cannot afford.
